In this 1612 translation by Thomas Shelton , Cervantes tells us "yet
in truth but a stepfather to Don-Quixote." The 9 pages of Preface are
printed in italics except here and there where a word or words are in
Roman type like the hyphenated Don-Quixote. The Roman type words add
up to 157 in all which is the numerical count of Fra Rosi Crosse.
This appears to associate the work of Bacon and the Rosicrucians.
