Divine Myth & Symbolic Figurehead
It would be difficult to overestimate the importance of the divine myth surrounding the figure of the Virgin Queen Elizabeth not only in the times she lived, but also over the following centuries, as England established itself as the main bulwark against a Catholic hegemony which stretched over the known world. She formed the symbolic figurehead of the emerging British Empire, the largest empire the world has ever seen, after whom the state of Virginia, the site of the first permanent English settlement was named, that eventually evolved into the United States of America, the most powerful nation in the history of mankind, thus personifying the dawn of a new world. It was primarily through the vast expanse of the British Empire that the English language became the universal language of the world, the vehicle of those immortal Shakespeare poems and plays which today are known throughout every corner of the globe.

Low cut dresses. Like, where are her nipples? 😉

There was so much that depended on the myth of the Virgin Queen, that once it was conceived and established, it was necessary for interrelated and evolving reasons, to deliberately sustain and maintain it down the centuries all the way through to our own times.

As I mentioned before, the Virgin Queen concept to me reeks of John Dee. First the Virgin Queen myth for England, and later the Virgin Birth of Francis Bacon (William Tudor in my theory...). In a way it is quite a clever way to create a powerful story, and wow did it work. I'd love to hear Joseph Campbell's take on this myth!

Elizabeth Becomes Queen

On 17 November 1558 Queen Mary died-a date that proved historically pivotal for the future direction of England, Europe and the rest of the world when replaced on the English throne by her sister Elizabeth, whose reign still continues to reverberate down the ages to the present day.

Lovers
On the eve of the accession her lover Robert Dudley was among the witnesses to the surrender of the Marian Great Seal at Hatfield in the morning of 18 November. The same day Dudley was appointed Master of the Horse the first of many positions, titles, preferment, enormous gifts and grants of land and property, given to him by his lover Queen Elizabeth, as well as untold revenues and monies, making him one of the most powerful and wealthiest people in the kingdom.

Nicholas Bacon Calls for Moderation & Tolerance

She also immediately appointed William Cecil her Principal Secretary of State and afterwards his brother-in-law Nicholas Bacon Lord Keeper of the Great Seal with all the powers of the Lord Chancellor of England-the Grand Architects of the Elizabethan Protestant Reformation. At the state opening of parliament in January 1559 the Lord Keeper Sir Nicholas Bacon in his opening address called for moderation and tolerance in matters of religion and to restore peace and prosperity to the country.

The First Great Lie

In the important Act of Supremacy Elizabeth declared herself Supreme Governor of the Church of England and instituted an Oath of Supremacy requiring all public and church officials to swear allegiance to the monarch as Head of Church and State and the Treason Act made it a treasonable offence to even imagine to deprive the monarch or her heirs of the crown, or destroy her, or her heirs. In the 1559 parliament Elizabeth told all those before her she had decided to remain unmarried: it shall be for me sufficient ‘that a marble stone should declare that a Queen having reigned such a time lived and died a virgin.’ It was a grand statement that would doubtless have raised a few eyebrows and a few smiles by those who knew better. It was the first great lie of her reign and it would certainly not be the last.

The 'Secret' Relationship

Beyond those who knew the true status of the secret relationship of Elizabeth and Dudley in the spring of 1559, increasing rumours amongst courtiers and ambassadors concerning their inappropriate behaviour were circulating round the Elizabethan court and the courts of Europe. On 18 April 1559 the Spanish Ambassador Count de Feria wrote to his master Philip.

Two questions.

I did not know the above is a famous Elizabeth quote. Obviously it is after some research today. From my memory of some of what I read, this was mid January 1559. The King of Spain, I think, was pressuring the young Elizabeth to marry him. Others thought she should get married, if not to him, t somebody and Lord Robert was the obvious. Whether or not she was a virgin does not matter, she was young and I am sure knew when older men were eager to have her.

Bacon was born 1560/1561. The year is kind a fuzzy line depending on what reference you read from.

1. Was this quote by Elizabeth one or two years before Bacon was born? Seems like one year to me, but I can't say. The following year we hear suggestions that "some" believe she is already a mother.

2. Is this the first mention of Elizabeth as a Virgin Queen? I am curious of the Royal Birth of this Myth.

 Keeping Up Appearances

A master of dissimulation in public Queen Elizabeth was doing her best to keep up appearances at a time when she was going through the pretence of considering marriage with the Archduke Ferdinand while her private inner circle knew she only truly had eyes for Dudley. Later that month on 29 April 1559 De Feria wrote again.

Writing in Cipher
Taking care to write in cipher Paolo Tiepolo, Venetian Ambassador to Philip II, reported to the Doge and the Senate that Elizabeth personally attended the ceremony where Dudley was knighted along with three others:

Hi Rob,

Yes this speech was made when her first parliament was called in early 1559. Ironically it was Elizabeth herself that first coined the title of ‘Virgin’ (even when she almost certainly wasn’t). The ‘Virgin’ was symbolically important to replace in the hearts of the people the Catholic Virgin Mary in order to give them someone divine to look up to and to whom they could swear Protestant allegiance. Old style dating started the year at March 25th but new style dating puts Francis Bacon’s birth at January 22nd 1561 which means she conceived around May 1560 (just over a year since she proclaimed herself a Virgin in 1559. The relationship with Dudley had almost certainly been going on from the beginning of her reign in 1558. There is a letter from De Quadra (we will put this up soon) written 22nd January 1561 stating that there was talk that Elizabeth was already a mother. The full ‘Virgin’ speech is below.

OK, let me see if I am up to speed on my religions and virgin births.

Virgin Mary gave birth to Jesus.

Virgin Elizabeth gave birth to Francis Bacon.

JESUS is 74 Simple and 100 Kaye if we use the 26 letter codes.

TUDOR is 74 Simple and 100 Kaye if we use the 24 letter codes.

74 and 100 are in our cipher vocabulary.

WILLIAM is 74 Simple cipher with the traditional 24 letter codes.

FRANCIS BACON is 100 Simple cipher with the traditional 24 letter codes.

Both brought Light and Love.

It's not about if one religion is better than another, it is about a Virgin Birth myth that has been repeated for thousands of years all over the planet. There may be cycles involved. I think JC (Joseph Campbell) suggested the myth is at least 10,000 years old. I've heard it is based on Venus and other patterns in the sky that have cycles.

THE VIRGIN QUEEN is 174 Simple cipher with the traditional 24 letter codes. 😉

Court Whispers
It was now routinely whispered at court and in foreign diplomatic circles that Queen Elizabeth and Dudley were indulging in a sexual relationship. On 10 May 1559 the Venetian Ambassador Schifanoya aware that his letters might be intercepted wrote to the Castellan of Mantua:
