Review - The Secret Work of an Age

This work takes the reader on an unforgettable journey through the history, ideas and themes of the wisdom tradition from the mists of time throughout the ages to the present day. The extraordinary breadth and depth of it is based and erected upon the solid foundation of meticulous and extensive research with supporting links provided on all the principle subjects covered in it.

It especially takes account of the known times of the Sumerians, Egyptians, the major continents of East and West, including in depth explorations of the arcane knowledge, wisdom and teachings of various secret societies, in particular, the Knights Templar, and the Rosicrucian and Freemasonry Brotherhoods.

At the head and heart of the seventeenth-century Rosicrucian-Freemasonry Brotherhood stood the towering genius of its age Francis Bacon (concealed author of the Shakespeare works), the Founding Father of the Modern World, whose secret order founded the United States of America, here explored and explained with impressive penetration and insight.

The secrets of these societies veiled in allegory, metaphor and symbolism, impenetrable to the profane and uninitiated, are teased out and explained by its author with remarkable and compelling clarity revealing what has been hidden and concealed from us in some instances for hundreds and thousands of years.

It also displays a masterful grasp of the magic and mathematical qualities of numbers, geometry and trigonometry and their hidden significance and meaning found everywhere in the everyday world all around us.

Through its central esoteric theme As Above So Below it explores the nexus of the microcosm of man and the macrocosm of the universe and the cosmic laws that underpin and sustain human  existence.

In doing so it takes us on a fascinating and illuminating journey of the astrological/astronomical cosmos and its ages up to the current developing Age of Aquarius: one of Peace, Love and Light marked by the further revealing of long hidden secrets, the raising of the collective consciousness of man, and the eventual Universal Reformation of the Whole World, providing a unique opportunity for the fulfilment of humankind’s divine and ordained destiny.

This book is a must read for all those who wish to possess a deeper understanding of who we are, where we came from, and the future direction of humanity, which will forever change the way we see the  world and our unique place in it.

A Phoenix.

Thanks so much Christie!  That's really very kind of you. The cover picture is by Albrecht Durer. I thought it was perfect. Glad you like it too!

Wow, two! Thanks Rob!  As you can see from the last image in this video, it is quite a weighty tome! I shocked myself as to just how big it is in width. Very grateful for all the support and encouragement from the Baconians. Kx

As you know Kate, I have read much of your eBook in parts at various times over the past year or so. I loaded it onto my tablet to keep by my bed to read as I was heading to sleep. But even my tablet beeps and bloops with email and text notices, and whatever else distracts me.

Tomorrow I will hold a paperback in my hands and all I need it is one of my 3X reading glasses and I can even sit outside with music in my earbuds and read the entire book. Finally!

I am still interested in acquiring an autographed copy if you ever offer them. 🙂

Congratulations! I suspect all the work you have done to promote your work will come to fruit in a big way.

OMG, it is huge! Even heavy to hold!

Funny, the eBook was impressive in volume, but in print one can actually feel the weight of your content!

Congratulations, happy to see you in Print...forever. Libraries should be buying and stocking. Folger's if they are serious will have a first edition copy.

🙂

18 November 2023 is on the back page.

I have been kicking myself for not having time to post about Day 322, November 18 ("...my name is Will") as it transitioned from Sonnet 136 to 137. Now I understand that this year this important day is all about you and The Secret Work of an Age.

Congratulations, Kate!!

I am thrilled to hear that you've finally published TSWOAA in paperback! Just recently, I tried to access the eBook, but the website appears to be down. Is this intentional?

Ten minutes ago, I was sitting at the table with my lovely parents, eating pizza and debating the true purpose of the Giza Pyramids. My parents were not easily convinced that the interior of the Great Pyramid mirrors the human brain, and I wanted to show them an image from your book. (Also, I'd been meaning to reread some sections, particularly about the Washington Monument.)

One more question: Is your book traditionally published? If so, what is the name of the publishing house?

Thanks!

I have a hunch it is, of course, Her book is in print, and in amazing quality. It is one for any library and also one to have in your hands a lot. I bought two and already passed one on to someone a little curious about the subject matter.

If you paid for the online version and did not download it, I am sure you can still get it. But the print is really awesome. Every one of us needs to own and hold a copy.

HI Marvin

Thank you!!

The platform, Paperturn, just underwent some big updates and changes so I think you must have tried to access when they had a short hiatus. I paid for the platform right through to late June this year so that those who purchased can still access and I put up a note to download.  Sorry about that. Please try again.

The paperback version is more expensive as the whole book had to be re-formatted for 6 x 9 and every image changed to black and white, or replaced if it didn't meet the basic resolution criteria. All 600+ links had to be individually converted to endnotes, so I also took the opportunity to proof read it again and tidy up a few bits of bad grammar. On the way I added and deleted and rearranged a few things, so the paperback is less visually attractive as the colour pics have gone, but it's the best version.

It is self-published on KDP (Amazon) and I have a piece of advice for anyone self publishing - make your book short and with as few images as possible! Placing the text around images is hugely time consuming plus you do get royalties on the list price but they take off printing costs, so with such a large book requiring so much ink, my book currently sells at $15.80 but I only make $2 per book. It's pitiful. With the ebook (self hosted outside of Amazon) I had to pay for the hosting but got £6.80 for every £9.

I see your book is finished. Well done! If you decide to self-publish, you may want to consider publishing as both an ebook and paperback on Amazon simultaneously to maximise profit, most authors do.

Thanks Rob!  Really appreciate your support. I just got another nice review this week, so I'll leave it here  - for posterity!

"The Secret Work of an Age is a book that produces a worthy compendium of esoteric signs, symbols, gematria and hidden meanings, discussing the Cabala, Rosicrucianism, Gnosticism and of course, Freemasonry, which acts as a gateway to other Orders, creating a pathway for esoteric research. Indeed, this book certainly produces an excellent guide for the journey.

The work delves deeper into the esoteric nature of Freemasonry than most other books that I've recently read. The reader will find a converging amount of esoterica, from numerology to ancient mythology, all colliding to create a thoughtful account of the mysteries that lie underneath the surface of of Freemasonry.

From the measurements and dimensions of ancient structures, to geometrical symbols, this book will guide you through a wealth of knowledge, and it should be a must for anyone wishing to know the deeper esoteric meaning behind Freemasonry and its adjacent Orders."
