Whoever they are, they must visit the B'Hive. That's a guess, but how could a series about Shakespeare and the RC be created without some online research on the subject?

😉

The show follows a shadowy order of diverse freedom fighters from all walks of life who wage a covert war to protect freedom of speech and civil rights, by using plays to spread knowledge, bury secrets and empower the masses.

The research must include reading and studying the academic papers of A. Phoenix and exploring the vast collection of knowledge on SirBacon.org! If not, the series will sadly miss the target. 🙂

I wish for Bacon's Truth to come to Light!!

My pleasure.

The creators (writer and producers) are mentioned in the link. I’m surprised that Lawrence is not involved or in the know - or were you aware Lawrence? I see that the producer is heavily involved with the Shakespeare Authorship Trust (that’s Mark Rylance isn’t it?)and that it mentions the Seven Steps to Mercy film with Petter Admundsen.

I did some digging and it seems that Marlowe and a number of others are going to be heavily referenced but, from my point of view, any publicity at this Hollywood level about Francis Bacon, and the fact FB is specifically cited as leading them, is fabulous news.

I'll check it out. Hoping for the best. 🙂

I don't know that this will be the Earth Shaker - Bacon story we all dream of, but hoping for the best.

Why is he not an active member here on the B'Hive? That concerns me. 😉

He may be a lurker for sure, or someone from his research team.

Unfortunately not! He followed me after I RTd it and I tagged AP in and told AP so it’s very recent. I can see Lawrence is now following too.

We should all be collaborating (us and the production team).

If they just go with Petter’s work (as great as it is) and the view of those who, for whatever reason, have managed to get a bigger reach or platform, they will miss out conveying some of the incredible discoveries and contributions and years of work of AP, yourself Yann, plus Rob and all the others on here.

I’m just glad to see this in progress.

I wish them luck in dramatizing what is conjectured by some. If it is not well done it will be damaging, because it will be picked apart and ridiculed at every opportunity as a serious statement. That is the downside of this. You can be certain that it will invite a high level of scrutiny that will demand an accountability for the claims made. The Rosy Cross, if it predates German Rosicrucianism would seem to imply the published ideas traveled from England to Germany, and that is not how scholars see it. It is most likely a name taken which which is borrowed (if it is was borrowed) at the time of the frenzy around Rosicrucianism on the continent. We don't even know the Rosy Cross was a thing. Amundsen shows RC watermarks and is quick to make the connection with Rosicrucianism nd Bacon, but what is to stop that from being a trade mark or a reference to the Royal Craft (RC) that is traceable to some operative Masonic ideas in Scotland? Are we going to get the origin story that begins with operative Freemasonry becoming Speculative Freemasonry in England ca. 1600? I suspect the entire thing will begin with a certain amount of given which is not at all known to be a fact. There are many things which one can equate if one wants to. There certainly were groups of men who met and discussed the advancement of learning or the direction of society, for example.  I am not one to take glee in the idea that it is possible to recruit for various ideas based on the popularity of them. It would be great if people were exposed to this AND it was true, but if it is not and it is building an energetic faction then there is only a tempest of opiniated views to be harvested from it.  Rosy Cross has a significance that is more than an implied group of men. The Rose and the Cross are old symbols with a religious story to tell when paired. Those who used them earliest were Christian zealots above all. Rosicrucianism is more complicated than that. It is upsetting in many ways to the Christian dogma. Anyway, I hope it is well researched and not just a pop culture rehashing of ideas which exploits mystery. The story told is seldom as nuanced as it would have to be, and we all love to think we can know things from simple considerations.

I think I read that they have been researching for the past year. Considering our B'Hive has been up a year already sharing decades of research by some of us, it doesn't sound encouraging. But then I don't know how many people are researching, how many hours a day each puts in, and what they are finding. If they have a fat budget, maybe they can be up to speed in a year?

A shallow premature attempt would be a shame, maybe an embarrassment, and could be harmful to the serious work we do. The Oak Island series may have attracted some attention to a bigger story, or maybe it takes away from it. I don't know.

If this is a low budget but well-done series, it may pave the path for a better production later, I hope. That would be better than a high budget poorly done series that would be a public hurdle to overcome.

This year we may see a lot of films and attempts of various quality jumping on the 2023/400 year First Folio bandwagon.

We need to just trust!

Tweet, Retweet, FB and Instagram about the Variety article where you can. Any new eyes on the idea that Bacon was behind Shakespeare as a result of this news is a positive. There are still millions, if not billions, who have zero idea the authorship is even in question.

Imagine how upset we’d be if the Variety article was about a production suggesting DeVere was Shakespeare!  It may mention Marlowe and DeVere and others - who knows - but the fact the press release singles out Francis Bacon as the Mastermind is wonderful news.

Anything we can do to help The Rosy Cross get funding is ultimately going to be a win/win, even if it does end up with bits we don’t fully agree with.

Appears they need funding. It is exciting though! Do they have a script written? They have actors signing up to play roles.

This is from today:

https://tvtonight.com.au/2023/05/ex-melbourne-teacher-creates-uk-shakespeare-series.html

Inspired by Jørgen Friberg’s documentary The Seven Steps to Mercy: Cracking the Shakespeare Code the drama follows a shadowy order of diverse freedom fighters from all walks of life who wage a covert war to protect freedom of speech and civil rights, by using plays to spread knowledge, bury secrets and empower the masses.

The "The Seven Steps to Mercy: Cracking the Shakespeare Code".

I haven't seen it, but sounds interesting.

Broadcasters are yet to be announced.

Broadcasters are the ones who buy it, right? How does one sell an idea to money people?? What, just ask an Oxie? LOL

Best of luck, if it is true and timely the world is ready for Bacon's story, all of it. ALL of it! 😉

EDIT:

Does he have a "GoFundMe" or anything? Does anybody know him before this concept is out there? Is it even real??

Its like there is a race! 🙂

On April 22 Tom says he has a pilot and money! Woo hooo! 🙂

Fingers crossed! Damn, Lawrence and I have been kicking around a Bacon movie for over 20 years. Tom Keenan, who I never heard of or who's name ever came up in a Bacon/Shakespeare conversation I have been a part of is jumping in with both feet on Twitter announcing a pilot with money! Wow!!!

Dear B'Hivers,
I LOVE the passion of this group. We are listening and hoping to do a show that will make you proud. As Kate says, we aim to raise awareness about this amazing man and his life. Keep the debate and passion coming, whatever your view! That's the beauty of Bacon's legacy.  Keep sharing and if you tweet, I will retweet.

I have been contacted by the chair of the SFB society who is very keen to help and spread the word across the world.

Happy to do a Skype chat with you all one day! That would be FUN!

Take care

How inspired is this going to be on Amundsen's previous wild exposes? Does this revelation worry anyone?  As far as I have applied myself to checking the things he has claimed, there is not a bedrock of knowledge there to anchor a story line on. It's only an evolution in conjecture. It bothers me that this individual has suggested a search for physical religious relics (and has involved local governments here), which are more apt to be found in myth, based on his interpretations of cryptic clues which are not distinguishable from a clever effort to generate them. It really does make me wonder how they are going to start off this drama. Is it going to be a displaced Scottish conspiracy to hide the Ark of the Covenant and protect the menorah? Will it favor one idea over another about Freemasonry's origins that involves Templars? Has anyone here followed the controversy around Amundsen since his series? I, for one, would not like it if it was said he spoke for me.

What are they going to have Bacon do or portray in this series? The possibilities are ripe with opportunity for the sensational which will overwhelm the defenses of those who might not be as grandiose in their reinterpretation of history. There is enough about Bacon that can be shown to have an interesting series about him. I just have a sick feeling in my stomach that this will err on the side of being interesting in the current "shock and awe" pop culture climate. I hope it is kept quite tame as to allow at least an entry for those who are not completely sold on the depth of the conspiracy that some suggest and popularize. I hope it has a lot of verifiable historical content and treats what he has in fact said overtly.

I love their choice of  "cover" image !

Francis Bacon's EYE.

EYE = 33 = BACON

FRANCIS BACON = 100

FRANCIS BACON - EYE = 133 = ROSIE-CROSS

(It was very probably not intended but this is an interesting connection with the topic and the name of the series 😊 )

And I love the symbolism.

This is very probably a reference to the All-Seeing Eye.

And, in the eye, the fire and what looks like Jesus on the Cross are a reference (theological and alchemical) to THE PHOENIX.

I had wished it was Bacon's EYE, but it is the famous Willy-eye. I spent some time looking last night at all of Bacon's eyes. Then realized I was wasting my time as it is the First Folio-eye.

Tom Keenan stated, "I have been contacted by the chair of the SFB society who is very keen to help and spread the word across the world."

Interesting the "The Society For Bio-materials" society would contact him. I assume he meant the FBS ("Francis Bacon Society" without the extra "society" added on).

I feel the excitement, read his praise for the B'Hive via our fearless Baconian leader Lawrence, and Tom offers to retweet out tweets. But where's the "Bacon"??

He implies the FBS contacted him. As a member of the FBS, I wonder if he has taken the time to join. He has not attempted to join the B'Hive. Of course it is not required, but why not even if not posting. Our list of Baconian members who only read occasionally is impressive. No pressure to be a Bee in the Hive.

Kate, you know him maybe? Who the heck is this guy and is he for real or fishing for money? I'm not seeing media attention online except his Twitter which is not a power house at all, and the couple articles promoted we have read. Another Shakespeare upcoming series has more attention and it likely Stratfordian from the get-go.

Tom, if you actually do read this forum you praise, I have questions and would be very welcome to read some input from you. Please join and share!! Let's kick some ideas around and if we believe in you we will be some of your most powerful Baconian cheerleaders!

Has Peter Dawkins said anything? Is he contributing to your script?

The initial launch promotion is this, "Shakespeare Conspiracy Series ‘The Rosy Cross’"

The target audience is the Oak Island viewers I suppose. That approach to Bacon's life does not give me the warm fuzzies, it gives me a nervous pit in my stomach. In Bacon's New Atlantis today, "Conspriracy Theories" are not helping Bacon's dream come true.

I'm hopeful, but even as wild as my theories go, I like some substance with the concepts I entertain in my head. Yea, I'm not one to question his work, I get it. I just would feel better if we had something to go on with TJ Kennan's project.

I wonder what the modern Rosicrucian movement thinks of his tag line? "Shakespeare Conspiracy Series ‘The Rosy Cross’"

The project, which has been in development for a year, was created by U.K.-based writer Tom Keenan and American actor-director Nick McDow Musleh.

Ahhh, trying to chase down Tom (TF) Keenan online didn't offer much food my quest. But, "Nick McDow Musleh" might be who we need to look at to learn more about The Rosy Cross.

It sounds like they have secured some production development funding, so there must be a script or at least a detailed outline of the plot, characters, locations, etc. Understandably, these details cannot be shared on line. However, if the intention is to confront the authorship question with veracity, the project would benefit enormously by asking A. Phoenix to comment on the script, i.e. privately. His historical knowledge of the period, with regards to Francis Bacon's life, is second to none. But I fear that the forces of commerce will triumph over the facts of history.

I know some of you are wondering why I am kind of being a buzz kill on this possible series. I am sorry, I can't help it.

Maybe I can explain?

My dream is to live to see the Bacon story told on the big screen or with a powerful series. It's come up here before, and anyone who knows me knows I have been talking about the best movie ever about Bacon. I kind of thought, "BACON" would be the name.

And in my dream all these years I eagerly await that movie or production that will make, and change history. Like this one, but even more powerful:

Maybe The Rosy Cross will do it. I'm just wrestling with what I see. Will a cheesy conspiracy series ruin the future for what one day may be possible?

Given what we know of the life and times of Sir Francis Bacon, a well-informed historical drama based on his life doesn't need to be sensationalised or embellished. By sticking to the facts as closely as possible, the proposed movie will have great longevity, and not simply be a flash in the pan.
