Saga-Shakespeare Cipher Key and Gunnar Tómasson

It was about 20 years ago this number guy, Gunnar, popped up with a different cipher number system that he worked with a lot. Together we built him a calculator:

I can't remember how long its been since I even looked at this feature on my neglected website! LOL

WILLIAM TUDOR I is 8374 Saga cipher. Yes, of course, 83 (TRUTH) plus 74 (TUDOR and WILLIAM) is 157 (WILLIAM TUDOR I). 😉

Gunnar is my website alarm system. If it is down for 15 minutes I'll hear from him. He needs his calculator! I appreciate that and he sends me amazing work now and then that is exciting and also over my head in some areas. I can see how his ciphers work and am very impressed with the math, but the names, stories, etc., are out of my scope.

I bet Yann can pick up a little more than me. 😉

I asked Gunnar permission to post what he sent to me to today. He said, "Please do." I invited him to join.

I hope you enjoy.

Curious of any comments. I know the calculator works, we fine tuned it a long time ago.

I'll for sure send him a link to this post. 🙂

Good evening Rob,

Thank you for sharing. This is very intriguing ! I must admit that I know almost nothing about the Icelandic culture.

For the anecdote (and do not ask me why) I tried something that you probably tried by the past : to find a word that add to 1881 with the saga cipher.

And I found not one but TWO : SOG and GOS.

And from there, just for fun, I made some quick research in order to see if something interesting could emerge from these two words.

Here is what I found 😄 ...

SOW versus SOG https://forums.sailboatowners.com/threads/s-o-w-vs-s-o-g.115266/

GOS - Old English for Goose from old German Gans , from old irish Geis (Swanhttps://www.wordsense.eu/gos/

The Silver Swan (Anonymous)

The silver Swan, who, living, had no Note,
when Death approached, unlocked her silent throat.
Leaning her breast against the reedy shore,
thus sang her first and last, and sang no more:
"Farewell, all joys! O Death, come close mine eyes!
More Geese than Swans now live, more Fools than Wise."

I've only worked with Gunnar's calculator making sure the arithmetic was right. Over years I've read his emails seeing large numbers sync up that does grab my attention. We get excited around here when we get 33! But when six or seven numbers match I assume the odds are even more exciting. Like the Power Ball! You could become a billionaire. With three or four numbers, you might win a couple thousand or so. LOL

Gunnar sent me something else to post.

"Rob, This clarifies the point of my decades-long exercise. Feel free to share it. Gunnar"

Below are John Dee's words:

https://www.gutenberg.org/files/22062/22062-h/22062-h.htm

By Numbers propertie therefore, of vs, by all possible meanes, (to the perfection of the Science) learned, we may both winde and draw our selues into the inward and deepe search and vew, of all creatures distinct vertues, natures, properties, and Formes: And also, farder, arise, clime, ascend, and mount vp (with Speculatiue winges) in spirit, to behold in the Glas of Creation, the Forme of Formes, the Exemplar Number of all thinges Numerable: both visible and inuisible, mortall and immortall, Corporall and Spirituall. Part of this profound and diuine Science, had Ioachim the Prophesier atteyned vnto: by Numbers Formall, Naturall, and Rationall, forseyng, concludyng, and forshewyng great particular euents, long before their comming.

Numbers, Dee describes: "both visible and inuisible, mortall and immortall, Corporall and Spirituall."

Math is magic. 1 + 1 = 2.

Bacon teaches that A + A = B.

Our entire planet and pretty much all of humanity is connected today because A + A = B.
