A Phoenix Posted September 24 Posted September 24 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works The provided text explores the contentious Shakespeare authorship question, specifically critiquing the Oxfordian theory that Edward de Vere wrote the works. The author shows that Francis Bacon is the true creator, citing contemporary manuscripts like the Promus notebook and the Northumberland manuscript as primary evidence. The text highlights the lack of documentary evidence for de Vere, noting he had no known connection to Shakespeare’s acting company and died before many plays were completed. In contrast it details Bacon’s deep Italian ties, his legal and literary workshop, and his hidden involvement with the 1623 Shakespeare First Folio. It concludes by dismissing the claims of researchers like Leonidas Kazantheos, accusing them of ignoring substantial Baconian records in favour of flawed speculation. A Phoenix Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works Clearly Oxford’s language was not the language of Shakespeare… By any measure, his poems pale in comparison with those of Sidney, Lyly, Spenser, Shakespeare, Donne and Jonson. Not only did Oxford have no demonstrable connection with the Lord Chamberlain’s Men-Shakespeare’s company-but neither the Carey family-the contemporary Lords Chamberlain-nor their successor patron King James had any particular use for him. [Alan H. Nelson, Monstrous Adversary: The Life of Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford [Liverpool University Press, 2003), pp. 66, 387 & 393] There is no single “smoking gun” document that leads one inexorably to the conclusion that de Vere wrote Hamlet, King Lear, the Sonnets, etc. There is no documentary record of de Vere and Shakspere ever meeting. [Mark Anderson, [Oxfordian] “Shakespeare” By Another Name: The Life of Edward de Vere, Earl of Oxford, The Man Who Was Shakespeare (New York: Gotham Books: 2006), pp. 381, 263] To date, it must be noted, no theatrical or poetic manuscript attributable directly to “Shakespeare” has ever been found among the possessions or documentary bequests of Edward de Vere. Neither annotated copies, nor draft scenes, nor letters make any reference, even indirectly, to the composition or publication of the works attributed to the Bard. [Erminia Passannanti [Oxfordian], ‘The Invisible Libraries: Edward de Vere, Francis Bacon and William Shakespeare’, 2025) Abstract] There are no documents proving Oxford wrote the plays, therefore he did not-true, and true of every other candidate, including Shakspere. [Tom Woosnam [Oxfordian], A New Resource for the Shakespeare Authorship Question, (2026)] Our main objections to the original nobleman alternative, Francis Bacon, is that his biography and writing style seem very un-Shakespearean in comparison to de Vere’s: plus he was so heavily involved in affairs of state (unlike the outcast and misanthropic Oxford) that it is hard to see how he would have found the time. [William Farina [Oxfordian], De Vere as Shakespeare: An Oxfordian Reading of the Canon (Jefferson, North Carolina and London, 2006), p. 238] I’ve never really delved into Francis Bacon that much. A Phoenix Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works Leonidas Kazantheos began his professional career as a writer and author after many years working as an artist, graphic designer and poet after attending Leeds College of Art in the late 1960’s. While developing an interest in the sustainable environment in a voluntary capacity he was also engaged as an independent researcher in metaphysics, astrology, the occult and magic. In progressing his studies in this field, he began to collect and compress all the ancient knowledge on the subject of religion, divination, anthropology, art, science and technology, semiotics, symbolism, the supernatural, occult magic, mythology, the language of dreams, alternative therapies, and the paranormal and philosophy. He writes: “It seemed to me that, with the advent of technological progress, that a great deal of ancient knowledge unearthed by sages and wise men of the past would most likely be buried or lost to humankind, perhaps forever. So, I sought to firstly seek out this eternal wisdom and with a degree of diligence reinstate its meaning and value to human beings in the 21st century.” It seems he was not alone in his quest and in the latter part of the millennium he was mentored by someone with similar interests who advised him to develop an interest and thoroughly research the life and times of the English literary giant, “William Shakespeare”, who as a prolific polymath and proficient linguist had been an illustrious nobleman who had been writing plays and poetry anonymously. Furthermore, it seems this aristocrat had been deliberately ostracised by English society for well over 450 years and was obliged by the state and the sovereign to deny his secret authorship of “Shakespeare’s Canon” for reasons which he has outlined in many of his essays and articles on the subject. These conclusions are clearly and succinctly presented in his two volumes entitled “Shakespeare’s Revelations Part One” and “Shakespeare’s Revelations Part Two” available here on Academia. This led to his first publication “Shakespeare’s Qaballah” in 2022 which firmly questions the veracity of mainstream Shakespeare scholars and academics that the bucolic “wool-brogger” from Stratford-upon-Avon, namely Wilemus Shagspere was the real author of the 1623 Folio of plays or for that matter the poetry attributed to the euphemistic “Swan of Avon”. Building gradually on the facts and discrediting the large amount of disinformation and misinformation that had been accepted wholesale by the public as well as many conventional academics for so long he helped to produce a web site to publicise his findings; Qudos Academy (www.qudosacademy.org). I am currently working on a screenplay entitled “Not Without Mustard” about the life of Edward de Vere [https://independent.academia.edu/LKazantheos/Papers] Paper: https://www.academia.edu/176119874/The_Blindness_and_Ignorance_of_the_Oxfordian_Leonidas_Kazantheos_in_Sir_Francis_Bacon_Versus_Edward_de_Vere_about_the_Life_and_Writings_of_Francis_Bacon_and_his_Authorship_of_the_Shakespeare_Works 1 2 https://aphoenix1.academia.edu/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrY7wzlXnZiT1Urwx7jP6fQ/videos
A Phoenix Posted September 30 Author Posted September 30 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works It seems that Leonidas Kazantheos has been interested in the so-called Shakespeare Authorship Issue for several decades. On Academia he has published three books 1] “Ab Ovum De Phoenix Illustris” or Shakespeare's Apotheosis 2] Shakespeare’s Revelations Part One 3] Shakespeare’s Revelations Part Two and around 20 articles on the authorship of the Shakespeare poems and plays. Or to be more precise on Edward de Vere, seventeenth Earl of Oxford whom he believes to be the true author of the Shakespeare canon. This point is very important because as I pointed out in the foreword of my recent one-thousand-page full-length work The Oxfordian Delusion: The Blindness and Ignorance of Oxfordians (Looney, Beauclerk, The Ogburns, Stritmatter, Waugh, Wildenthal, Woosnam, Phoebe Nir, et al) about The Life and Writings of Francis Bacon and his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works (2026) from the time J. Thomas Looney issued the foundational Oxfordian work in 1920, subsequent Oxfordian writings addressing the authorship controversy covered in the above work, include only 2 recent full-length Baconian works in Overton-Fuller (1981) and Dawkins (1988) and 2 articles by Clarke (2014, 2017). Similarly, the bibliographies in the three books on the Shakespeare authorship by Kazantheos list only one Baconian publication The Shakespeare Enigma (2004) by Peter Dawkins. How much Kazantheos has read of it is another question. If is article is anything to go by-not that much! It all obviously begs the simple question how on earth are Kazantheos and the Oxfordians able to critically evaluate Bacon’s authorship of the Shakespeare works when they know little or next to nothing about the mountainous, overwhelming and irrefutable evidence, facts, and primary documents, confirming it. Well, the answer is also simple-they are obviously not able to evaluate evidence and facts they are not aware of, but it does not prevent them from offering up their mis-informed and ignorant opinions. This markedly applies to Kazantheos who clearly knows very little or next to nothing about the secret life and writings of Francis Bacon and the enormous body of scholarly literature relating to his authorship of the Shakespeare works. In keeping with the Oxfordians who have gone before him Kazantheos displays no interest in the actual truth about the authorship of the Shakespeare works he is only interested in trying to prove Oxford is Shakespeare. A Phoenix Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works For Kazantheos and the other Oxfordians the publication of The Oxfordian Delusion which systematically dismantled and demolished their misconceptions and illusions represented a crisis of existential proportions. Some Oxfordians have dedicated decades and lifetimes writing books and articles on what they believed to be Oxford’s authorship of the Shakespeare works, along the way denouncing the orthodox Stratfordians and dismissing the candidature of Francis Bacon in complete ignorance of the full Baconian canon, repeatedly revealing and confirming he was the secret Shakespeare. Following The Oxfordian Delusion, Oxfordians face a choice either publicly admit they were wrong leaving them feeling foolish and humiliated in front of their peers, family and friends, and the rest of the Shakespeare world, the choice of a serious person of honesty and integrity, a choice I doubt any of them will make. Or alternatively, choose one of the two following options: ignore the work and just keep on peddling this false and fraudulent fallacy, or attempt to dispute the findings in The Oxfordian Delusion that repeatedly highlighted the impossibility of Oxford being Shakespeare and repeatedly provided a series of primary manuscripts and documents and a whole range of other evidence confirming Bacon was the true author of the Shakespeare works. This is the option taken by Kazantheos, who showing no evidence of actually having read The Oxfordian Delusion, has just published a 67-page article entitled ‘Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere’, in which he woefully tries to dismiss Bacon’s authorship of the Shakespeare works and at the same time maintain Oxford was the secret Shakespeare. A Phoenix Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works On more than one occasion I was contacted by Kazantheos via email in which in the first of these he insisted that Bacon was involved in a Masonic conspiracy to prevent it being made known that Oxford was Shakespeare and instead place the crown on the head of the Stratford man: Sir Francis Bacon, I agree was Elizabeth’s illegitimate son, and however well you have made a case for his authorship, in my own view could not have written “Shakespeare” my case is clear, he was involved in the Masonic conspiracy to undermine the case for Oxford. he had strict instructions to remove all available evidence such as letters, registration of plays including recruiting Jaggard and Thorpe to publish false evidence of Oxford’s authorship and to reinforce the notion that the Stratford man was the author. I have no doubt about Oxford’s authorship… These two noblemen remain the most popular condenders [sic] for authorship of William Shakespeare’s 1623 Folio. Qudos Academy compares the life-skills of both men using forensic astrology. … His astrological chart clearly supports this view with Venus in the 12th house-financial conspiracy! A Phoenix Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works I received a second email from Kazantheos on 2 August 2026: I'm not sure why your papers have found their way onto my platform since I am an Oxfordian perhaps Google’s algorithms are going awry? But since you are there I think I have a right of response to your assertion that Oxfordians are under a delusion-is that not the kettle calling the teapot black? I have infiltrated Scientology, The Moonies, Divine Light Mission, Subud, Alcoholics Anonymous, Jehovah’s Witnesses etc. All in the hope of understanding why some people are prone to self-delusion and assume something is true when it is so blatantly false. It has more to do with which hemisphere of the human brain is employed to process and analyse data (left & right), the former is similar to a grid-like structure and has to do with the actual facts themselves and where and how they are stored in the brain. The latter has a more amorphous structure or framework, seeing connections, correspondences and similarities and also how they are knitted together as in a jig-saw puzzle. When one or the other is deficient or inactive during the analytical process then the processing and storage goes awry and it is easy to see how someone studying or examining the same facts can come to a totally different conclusion and a completely different outlook on what they actually perceive! That I am afraid is what has happened in the case of Baconians-but hey ho! The Baconians got off to a bad start in any case with Ignatius Donnelly and her highness of folly Delia Bacon. That did not stop future researchers from reviving the cult. Unless you can provide 5 basic and indisputable facts that would prove Francis Bacon, a visionary writer, political administrator and head of a Masonic Lodge was also the author of at least 40 Shakespearean plays? with all due respect, leonidas - the spear shaker.1 1. https://www.academia.edu/Messages?from_navbar=true&trigger=acct-mnu-btn Paper: https://www.academia.edu/176119874/The_Blindness_and_Ignorance_of_the_Oxfordian_Leonidas_Kazantheos_in_Sir_Francis_Bacon_Versus_Edward_de_Vere_about_the_Life_and_Writings_of_Francis_Bacon_and_his_Authorship_of_the_Shakespeare_Works 2 https://aphoenix1.academia.edu/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrY7wzlXnZiT1Urwx7jP6fQ/videos
A Phoenix Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 The Blindness and Ignorance of the Oxfordian Leonidas Kazantheos in Sir Francis Bacon Versus Edward de Vere about the Life & Writings of Francis Bacon & his Authorship of the Shakespeare Works On the same day I replied: I can give you 7 [primary manuscripts and documents] straight away without any need to go anywhere near ciphers and codes. Kind Regards A Phoenix https://francisbaconsociety.co.uk/shakespeare-authorship/contemporary-documentary-evidence/1 After having had the chance to look at the summaries of the seven primary manuscripts and documents on 3 August 2026 Kazantheos sent the following email: Hi there, Thanks for your time and tolerance on this issue, I will in due course read through that list, excluding any reference to the 1623 Folio itself since its production and publication and much of what it contains is highly suspect given Jonson’s involvement. As you might be aware several of your points (such as the Folio itself) listed have been strenuously challenged by other academics and scholars for example Stephanie Hughes from the Shakespeare Oxford Fellowship. Your derision of the Oxfordian assertion that Edward de Vere was secretly the author of Shakespeare’s canon is unwarranted given the lack of intellectual rigour that pervades your own unsubstantiated theory that Francis Bacon, while clearly spent a large proportion of his working career in the legal and political sphere, also had the motivation and the time to become a playwright and poet is perhaps stretching credulity far beyond the realms of historical reality. So, when did the Baconian theory become a diverse religious cult? That is a question yet to be elucidated in my view. Hard irrefutable facts are somewhat different from those rather vague connections or possessions allegedly discovered with the Northumberland Manuscript which reveals that Bacon was personally involved in collating the plays attributed to William Shakespeare alias Earl of Oxford. And we know why Bacon was annoyed about de Vere’s own reputation. with all due respect, leonidas-the spear shaker.2 1. https://www.academia.edu/Messages?from_navbar=true&trigger=acct-mnu-btn 2. https://www.academia.edu/Messages?from_navbar=true&trigger=acct-mnu-btn Paper: https://www.academia.edu/176119874/The_Blindness_and_Ignorance_of_the_Oxfordian_Leonidas_Kazantheos_in_Sir_Francis_Bacon_Versus_Edward_de_Vere_about_the_Life_and_Writings_of_Francis_Bacon_and_his_Authorship_of_the_Shakespeare_Works 1 2 https://aphoenix1.academia.edu/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrY7wzlXnZiT1Urwx7jP6fQ/videos
